Renewable Energy PDF Print E-mail

Through our merger with World Waste Technologies, Inc. (see “About Us; History”) we maintain a renewable energy project development capability.  This business initiative is centered on converting municipal solid waste (“MSW”) into renewable electricity in a clean and efficient manner.  Our focus has been on the pursuit of projects in states with attractive Renewable Portfolio Standard electricity prices coupled with community desires to achieve greater landfill diversion.

While we are not a developer of specific conversion technologies in this field, we do have the opportunity to implement a variety of existing processes for the conversion of MSW into a synthetic gas (“syngas”) that can be used to generate renewable electricity.  Projects that we have under consideration generally entail the designing, building, owning and operating of 20 megawatt facilities collocated with MSW sites such as transfer stations or landfills.

Our Renewable Energy Project Development efforts are another example of how we at Vertex Energy hope to generate useful products from waste streams in the U.S.
